My Very First Egg. Ever!

I woke up this morning at a little past five. It was pouring rain outside and it hasn’t truly rained here at all over the past two years. I’ve been building all these dry riverbeds and leveling slopes and drainage ditches to reclaim all the rainfall into all of my beds over the past two years so having actual rain to test everything is more than helpful to know if I got the job done properly. To Err is Human, To Redo is Annoying: How NOT to build a gravel pathway, and how to fix it afterwards.

You learn a lot as a first time home owner. About half of that learning comes from making costly mistakes. My pea gravel pathways are a prime example of that. I’ve spent countless hours leveling and sculpting pathways around my beds in order to create a nice harmonious flow throughout the yard. I’ve spent quite a bit of money on pea gravel as well in order to do this. Admittedly, I knowingly took a few shortcuts along the way. And…now I’m paying for it. Big time. Meet the Family!

I wanted to take a moment to introduce you to all the creatures that inhabit my home. These are the members of the family that I’ll be mentioning from time to time, so I thought it best to introduce everyone. For some reason beyond my comprehension, I’ve been really blessed to be surrounded by the best girls on the planet.
