Every now and again, I like to do some long exposures and paint the scenery in with flashlights. I think this one was about three to four minutes. I even painted the palm trees in the background. Notice that the stars are streaking across the skies as the shutter lags. The only constant star would be the North Star, but I was facing East here. This post is short, simple and meant to inspire. Did it work?
Post Script: Can you see the ghost image of me in this photo? zoom in and look around.
Looks great James
Thank you good sir!
Very cool blog/website.
You’ve got some talent with a camera also!
I’m very new to getting my hands into the earth though I have really thrown myself into it. Can’t say I’ve ever been so satisfied haha
I’ve decided I wil blog the journey along with other things of interest along the road. It’s early days at the moment as this is all new to me but feel free to check it out;

The blog is looking great! Don’t forget to delete that first post! That space is for your words;)
Thanks for following as well as the very kind words! I’m glad to hear that you’re getting your hands in the earth. It’s the best thing you can do for yourself and a completely rewarding hobby. Let me know of you get stuck or need any advice. That’s why I’m here.
Welcome to the club!
Yours,
James
Looks like a really good spot for entertaining. I can’t believe your willow tree still has its leaves in January…..
Indeed it is Matt. The willow slows down and looses about 30% of its leaves. But not all. Must be the Mediterranean climate.
Wow. Gorgeous!!
Thanks doc!
Architectural Design, perhaps?
Do you mean as my job? Never tried my hand at architectural design before. I do enjoy placement and arrangement though. Perhaps it could be a calling. That, or designing zoo habitats.
I just meant it looked like the sort of photo you would see in that magazine. Maybe not quite the right magazine choice, but just so rich and inviting. You could definitely sell anything with photos. (And don’t mean commercial looking.) I looked at it for a long time.
Ah yes, that was the other possibility. Thank you though! We’re you able to see the ghost me in there? I love painting with light, you get the coolest effects. Cheers!
Yes! I saw you, and then I decided it was my imagination. I like playing with gimp, so I really dug this from both the whimsical and the geeky sides.
Well that’s me in a nutshell. Whimsical and geeky!
Light is the most magicalest thing, isn’t it? Lou and I were talking this afternoon about how sunrise and sunset, like the two solstices, are the most magical times. The times of transition. I veered off topic there.
